3.1 | 명사 수식

명사 수식
the first + ⓝ + to-ⓥ
the last + ⓝ + to-ⓥ
the only + ⓝ + to-ⓥ

3.1.1 | 수식받는 명사가 to R의 의미상 주어가 되는 경우

수식받는 명사가 to R의 의미상 주어가 되는 경우
→ 주격 관계대명사절로 바꿀 수 있다.

I have no friend to help me.
= I have no friend who help me.
(내게는) 나를 도와 줄 친구가 없다.

3.1.2 | 수식받는 명사가 to 부정사에 대한 의미상의 목적어가 되는 경우

수식받는 명사가 to 부정사에 대한 의마상의 목적어가 되는 경우
→ 목적격 관계대명사로 바꿀 수 있다.

3.1.2.a | 명사 + to-ⓥ(타v)

I have no friend to help.
= I have no friend whom I help.
(내게는) 내가 도와 줄 친구가 없다.

3.1.2.b | 명사 + to-ⓥ(자v) + 전치사

I have no hous. + I can live in it.
1. I have no house which I can live in.
2. I have no house in which I can live.
3. I have no house which to live in.
4. I have no house in which to live.
5. I have no house to live in.
뜻 : 나는 살 집이 없다.

I need a chair. + I can sit on it.
1. I need a chair which I can sit on.

뜻 : 나는 앉을 수 있는 의자가 필요하다.

뜻 : 나는 그들에게 내 감사를 표현할 단어가 부족하다.

그는 차를 살 돈이 없다.

He wants a knife to cut the bread with right now.
그는 지금 당장 빵을 자를 수 있는 칼을 원한다.

3.1.3 | 수식받는 명사와 to 부정사가 동격 관계인 경우

관계대명사절로의 전환은 없다.

그의 직업은 차를 파는 것이다.
