4.3 | (조건) ~했다면

You would have done better to have made up with him.
= You would have done better if you had made up with him.
너가 그와 화해했더라면 좋았을 것이다.

To hear him talk, you would take him for an American.
= If you heard him talk, you would take him for an American.
너가 그가 말하는 것을 듣는다면 그를 미국인으로 오해할 것이다.
